Younger Me
October 7th, 2019
Dear Char:
Hey girl. I hope life is going well right now. I wish the best for you when you get older. You deserve it. You don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow, or 17 years from now on, but you want everything to be okay. Me and my Cinderella TV are doing just fine. I hope you still love The Lion King right now. That movie is the best. I wonder what your life will be like in 10 years. Like will you still be at East Lansing? Will you have a boyfriend? (You better not, boys are icky.) Well who knows? You might just be a high schooler hanging out with your friends and coloring and playing with stuffed animals still. That’s honestly all you want.
Being 8 is great. You get to run around the yard doing cartwheels into the splits, watching all your TV shows and Lion King on repeat on your Cinderella TV, and hangout with your sister and brother watching Spongebob. School is hard at the moment, trying to remember what 4+6 equals. Your mom and stepdad always make your favorite foods and desserts. You will probably still look the same for the rest of your life. You will always have a baby face. You are already growing into being very tall, which is exciting but sad at the same time. I hope that when you get older you are happy and enjoying life for what it is. Hopefully the world hasn’t changed that much.
Well, I’m gonna go now. I hope that you are still enjoying life, laughing with your friends and still eating brownies almost every week. If you do have a boyfriend, then no kissing or holding hands. That’s not okay. That’s how you get cooties. But anyways, stay happy, stay positive ( I just learned that word this week, woo hoo)
Sincerely, Charlize Metzger
